So I hope everyone is having a delightful easter break, filled with a load of chocolate gluttony and much deserved lazing about. I happen to have 2 weeks off of Uni at the moment which I am hoping to make the most out of - starting from going to Melbourne on Sunday! yay! Believe it or not, this will be our absolute first trip down there and so I would love love love if any Melbournites or anyone familiar with it could make some recommendations as to where to shop/eat/play?! Anyway,I recently got a huge load of amazing new bling from Backstage - including all of these cuffs which I can't seem to buy anywhere else - they just seem to add the perfect accents to any outfit - so definitely worth a check out. I am also in love with my beautiful new ring by Molten Relic.
Wearing:Backstage neck cuff, gold and silver cylindrical rings and arm cuff, Gail Sorronda floating shirt dress, Gail Sorronda white necklace, Molten Relic Knick-knack 60s ring.

ReplyDeletewhen you're in melbourne, you should definitely go to chapel street and explore the CBD
there's also an adorable little japanese place in the city on elizabeth street called 'Menya' and they have an amazing menu at an incredibly decent price :)

oh oh a must checkout for fashion lovers - Alice Ephorium in the city http://www.aliceeuphemia.com/
ReplyDeleteother areas i love ... St kilda, Auland street. Chapel Street Prahran & south yarra section, in the city explore all the little laneways - as well as rooftop bar and the other shops in the same building. its the building where cookie is on swanston street. Fitzroy - checkout Brunswick street area. and all the other streets around fitzroy. most of the nightlife is here - it would be equivalent to the valley (I think thats what its called) in Brisbane. Chapel street - north end is more like James street - all the boutiques. In the city you might want to go to GPO its got a lot of fashion too. and chadstone is good for shopping too.
in carlton its all about lygon street for really good coffee and italian food.
ahh i could give you a never ending list of Melbourne.
but just explore all the areas for yourself and see what you like.
Amazing, love the look. The rings are so cool. Have fun in Melbourne! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit! It looks so comfortable too. xx

awesome dress! and I love your hair, look so cool!
ReplyDeleteFabliha, I'm completely losing it right now. I've been looking for this type of neck cuff FOREVER and now I know where I can buy it (maybe, if they ship to this God-forsaken country!) By the way, is that the thin metal neck cuff?

Chapel street is where everyone will send you but I was rather disappointed last time I was there. Salvos on Carlisle street, St Kilda, is filled with great vintage stuff. Actually all of Carlisle street is full of great little boutiques and eateries. I used to live there and never bothered about Chapel street much, because Carlisle had so much to offer. There is, however, an amazing indoor Vintage market on Chapel street that stocks everything and the jewellery and vintage fur are to die for. Visit the markets in the city if you can. Great stuff there too. I'd avoid the main shopping places in the city (except Zara) and head straight towards everything that ends with 'lane'. And last but not least Acland Street, St Kilda. Great for shopping, going out, eating ice cream and only a few steps away from The Esplanade Hotel!
ReplyDeleteHope you'll be having a great time :)
go to green with envy :) i work at the richmond store but i think the nicest store is flinders lane, its very cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!
I just ordered the neck cuff. So excited, I only ever order books online (okay, I've ordered my Diana F+ too). I cannot wait to get the cuff :D

As a melbournite i suggest the whole city in general, especially when you just go for and adventure through little alley ways! chapel st. is an obvious recommendation (all though I'll admit its a little bit over-hyped, but there is the odd vintage store which is amazing), as well as around richmond (high end/great vintage finds!). Also, try to avoid the main shopping part (bourke street, except zara and try to visit the GPO, its beautiful!)

oh how i would love to wander in your wardrobe for a day. have a fantastic time in melbourne - i want to go over in the middle of the year so let me know if you find any hidden treasures.
ReplyDeletehundredsorthousands.blogspot.com
Love that dress! So interesting :) Have a great trip - anywhere in Melbourne is great to shop! You definitely have to check out Christine boutique though!
ReplyDeleteAwayFromTheBlue.blogspot.com.au
Gorgeous dress! I haven't been to Melbourne recently, but I became a bit obsessed during uni and went 3 years in a row haha. It's so great for shopping. Definitely visit Green with Envy and Alice Euphemia (recently re-launched and probably even more awesome - they have romance was born, lover and a lot of amazing australian labels).
ReplyDeleteFor coffee, all of the little lanes (especially Flinders Lane) are perfect, because as you've probably heard, the key with melbourne is to literally get lost in the laneways! That's where you find all of the best little treasures. Degraves Espresso on Degraves St is really popular (good for takeaway coffee, but I didn't really enjoy dining in because you were so close to everyone else), and Amici's (I think it's called) is a cute bakery/cafe' in Chapel St which is always packed for breakfast, but so worth it. If you love Italian food, make sure you go to Lygon St, but make sure you're hungry!
GPO is worth checking out too, they often have designer pop-up stores (in addition to all the beautiful permanent boutiques), when I was there they had a Limedrop pop-up store and it was being managed by the designer himself, which was pretty cool! I've heard they are doing it again for a few months, so check it out! Acne also has a store there which is incredible. I am a fan of Alpha 60, cool for sculptural designs.
Have lots of fun!
xx
