Most prints seem to be just seasonal. They owe themselves to a trend of a particular season. Everyone wears it to death that season (including yours truly) and then after the season is over, you never want to lay eyes on that print again. For that reason, and being a huge print lover, I always try to invest in the most unique and inventive prints which transcend seasonality.
